Veterinary Surgeon - Practice Owner
Dr Lynn Mathison is one of the practice owners of Coreen Ave Veterinary Clinic and the Western Sydney Cat Hospital. She graduated from the University of Sydney with first class honours and was the senior associate at Coreen Avenue Veterinary Clinic when it first opened in 1996. Lynn has an interest in ferret medicine, surgery and animal behaviour. Lynn loves spending time with her seven furry family pets and her beautiful daughters Georgia and Grace.
Dr Nicole McMillan BVSc(Hons)
Veterinary Surgeon - Practice Owner
Dr Nicole McMillan is one of the practice owners of Coreen Avenue Veterinary Clinic and the Western Sydney Cat Hospital. Also a University of Sydney honours graduate, Nicole was the senior partner at The Mountains Animal Hospital before joining the team at Coreen Avenue Vets. She has completed a postgraduate course in Cardiology and is currently undertaking another in Animal Behaviour. Nicole is a busy mum, balancing time between work and her two fun loving children, Nellie and Noah.
Dr Christie Budd BVSc
Veterinary Surgeon
Dr Christie graduated from the University of Sydney in 1992, and after working in a few small animal practices around Sydney, spent several years in England. She then worked in the United States in a clinic designed exclusively for cats. This is where her passions lie. She now heads the Western Sydney Cat Hospital for us.
Dr Miriam Rustemeyer BVSc
Veterinary Surgeon
Dr Miriam graduated from the University of Pretoria, South Africa and worked for five years in a busy referral and first option practice. She spent six months travelling before immigrating to Australia in 2001. Her interests include mountain bike riding, gardening and her feline children Nipper, Petzl and Gri-Gri. She joined the Western Sydney Cat Hospital to further her work with cats.
Dr Elaine Yap BVSc BVMS
Veterinary Surgeon
Dr Elaine graduated from Murdoch University in Perth before moving to Dubbo to work in a small animal practice. She joined the Coreen Avenue Vets team where she introduced Coco Pops and Oreos and milk as a staple snack of the day. Elaine loves spending time with her cat Rajah and hopes to travel back to her homeland of Singapore in the future.
Dr Michelle Okorn BSc(Hons) BVSc(Hons)
Veterinary Surgeon
Dr Michelle graduated from University of Sydney in 2007 with honours after initially completing a degree in Genetics. Michelle enjoys spending time with her two canine kids Chester the naughty beagle and Molly the spoilt daschund. She also loves watching movies and cooking new vegetarian-style recipes.
Dr Rebecca Griffin BVSc
Veterinary Surgeon
Dr Rebecca graduated from University of Sydney in 2004. She moved to rural Victoria and worked in a mixed animal practice in Mildura and North East Victoria for several years before hanging up her calving ropes and moving back to Sydney in 2010. Dr Rebecca has under taken further study in conversation and wildlife medicine and is currently pursuing further studies in ophthalmology. She enjoys keeping fit with yoga and running with her dog Merlin.
Dr Kate Wingett BVSc(Hons)
Veterinary Surgeon
Dr Kate graduated with honours from the University of Sydney. Her overseas work has brought invaluable experience in small animal medicine and surgery to Coreen Avenue Veterinary Clinic. She is currently undertaking a postgraduate course in Internal Medicine.
