Acupuncture is one alternative therapy offered at Coreen Ave Veterinary Clinic. Nurse Bronwyn is currently studying Acupuncture through College of Integrative Veterinary Therapies (CIVT) and can assist pets requiring this treatment.
In small animals, acupuncture is most commonly used for arthritis and back problems, skin conditions, bladder problems and paralysis. Because acupuncture stimulates the body’s own system of healing and no drugs or chemicals are used, it’s a good adjunct to conventional treatment or an alternative for long term problems.
For small animals, the use of acupuncture needles is virtually painless. Most animals become very relaxed and may even become sleepy.
